Career
Mark's career in the building industry began in 1981 and encompasses building contracting, technical concrete mix design and production, remanufacturing, building materials supply, project management, project and construction management and administration of remedial projects
Remedial contracts have rangedin value from $50k to $11M, and include negotiation and mediation of disputes, arbitration, building condition surveying, failure reporting, forensic surveying, expert witness services, research and development of leaky building remediation, alternative solution design and earthquake strengthening - as well as general building consultancy and surveying.

Career
Steve been involved in the construction industry since 1987, as a builder, foreman, pre-purchase inspector and on-site construction manager. More recently, he has been working in building surveying and project / construction management roles, accumulating over 15 years experience in leaky-building remediation.
Steve has contract managed hundreds of re-cladding projects ranging from stand-alone dwellings to multi-unit apartments, schools, and a fully occupied, functioning rest home / hospital.

Experience
Engineer’s Representative and Senior Project Manager on the 40 unit Beachpoint Apartments complex remediation at Ohope, a $6 million project spanning two years.
Engineer’s Representative and Senior Project Manager on the 40 unit Reef Apartments complex at Mount Maunganui, a two-year project with stage one complete and stage two scheduled for completion in November 2020.

This work involved invasive and non-invasive investigation, designing remedial scope and details, project managing re-cladding works, coordinating works and sub-trades, liaison with various ministries, principals, designers and consulting engineers, tender invitations.
Coordinating construction activities with Site Managers and Foreman, included building envelope investigations, dilapidation reports, sub floor mould inspection, WSG eligibility reports, PS4 construction review documents, scope of works documents, peer review of drawings and reports, methodology statements, pre-purchase and pre-sale inspections, programme creation using Microsoft Project Software
